Nesting blooms

Hi everyone. I had a wonderful weekend in London. The sun shone brightly all weekend, even though it was very cold. The Winnie the Pooh exhibition at the V&A was extremely good and it was lovely to wander around London without children for once!

Today I'm sharing another Trimcraft V&A collection card, this time made using the First Edition Nesting Blooms die.

Everything on this card is by Trimcraft, except for the pearls which were a bargain buy from Home Bargains (I bought a pack in pink too).

I am going to try using my inks on these papers this week as they'll be perfect for a vintage style card.

The rest of the week will be taken up with work and preparing for my next Trimcraft demo in Newport on Sunday. Hopefully the forecasted snow won't cause any problems this time.

Have a lovely week. Cathy x

V&A

Hi everyone. I am very excited today as I'm going to London for the weekend tomorrow- with friends, no children and no husband! I'm especially looking forward to a trip to the V&A for their Winnie the Pooh exhibition.

Totally coincidentally, last week Trimcraft launched their fabulous new V&A papercraft collection, based on fabrics found in the museum. I bought some bits from the Create and Craft launch but then was very lucky and won more in a little competition for Trimcraft demonstrators. Just look how gorgeous the collection is:

I'm sure I'm going to be using this collection lots over the next few weeks, although I'm tempted just to paper my walls instead. This is the first card I have made with it:

Everything on the card is from the collection, except from the blue card from my stash. I have used:
  • 8x8 paper pad
  • Cream 7x5 card blank
  • Washi tape
  • Frame
  • Paper flowers
  • Sentiment sticker
  • Pearls

I love how well the patterns work together, just so pretty.

Hope you all have a great weekend, whatever you are up to. Cathy x

Simply stars

Hi everyone. The good news is that I am finally starting to feel well again. I had a day off yesterday and managed to get lots done for the first time in ages. It's great to actually have some energy back. Thank you for all the good wishes.

Today I'm sharing a very simple card made for the Bubbly Funk blog using the Seeing Stars craft box.

The glittery stars are definitely the main focus of this card but I've also used strips of washi tape which were in my Mrs Brimbles washi advent calendar. The sentiment is from Dovecraft's Sparkle and Shine collection.

I had a new Bubbly Funk box delivered yesterday and will be making an unboxing video with my little cameraman in the next few days. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what's in the box and sharing it with you soon.

Waves of change

Hi everyone. I am still struggling with a heavy cold- at the moment I'm either working or in bed. It really is a nasty bug. I have tried to keep on top of blog comments but my head is so woolly please forgive me if I've missed any.

Today I'm sharing a shaker card made for the Bubbly Funk blog.

The sparkles I have used may be from the Blue Christmas box but they work perfectly in this sea themed card.

My papers and journal card sentiment are from Mrs Brimbles. The mermaid and fish dies I've used are from Hunkydory.

This weekend I have another Trimcraft demo- this time on Sunday at The Range in Imperial Park, Bristol.  Hopefully I'll be well enough to get some more crafting time in before then too and will be back to share something new next week. Cathy x

Player 2

Hi everyone. As today is Valentine's Day I'm just popping by to share the card I made for my husband this year.

I've made the card using Hunkydory For the Love of Stamps Alien Invasion stamps and mask.

I layered a 6x6 card blank with black card then cut a slightly smaller piece of white card. I used the mask and Salty Ocean Distress Ink to make the blue border, then added the hearts using the mask and Candied Apple Distress Oxide.

I then switched to using the stamps with my Tim Holtz stamp platform and Versafine black ink to add the aliens and a sentiment.

These little aliens remind me of the original computer games we played in the 80s and seemed perfect for a fun Valentine card this year.

Have a good day, Cathy xxx

Pick of the bunch

Hi everyone. I've ended up with the lurgy this week- as I write I'm aching all over. I blame my husband, he started it at the beginning of the week and passed it on to me. Luckily the boys seem to have avoided it, so I will get to have a day to myself to recover today.

This weekend I have Trimcraft demos in Cardiff and Taunton (not Weston as I thought, good job I checked!). I've done a little more preparation and made another gap card, using the Nature's Grace collection.

The stamp is an old favourite Dovecraft one and the flower die is by Dovecraft too. I love this colour combination and how this design lets me show off the papers.

Hope you all have a great weekend, whatever it may bring. Cathy x

Bubbly Funk Krafty Love

Hi everyone. I had a good day yesterday at my Trimcraft demo. The store was quite quiet but I had lots of people stopping to talk about my projects.

Today I'm sharing a card which I made for the Bubbly Funk blog this weekend.

Here I've combined elements from the Bubbly Funk Love Is...Through the Letterbox Craft Box with some Crafter's Companion papers and a kraft card blank.

A busy week ahead for me this week before two more demos at the weekend, Cardiff on Saturday and Weston Super Mare on Sunday. Thank goodness it's half term next week!

Have a great week, Cathy x

Hey Baby!

Hi everyone. Well, it's just been one of those weeks and whilst I did some crafting last weekend I have only just got round to taking photos!

This Sunday I have my first Trimcraft demo of the year (in The Range, Stoke Gifford, Bristol if you can join me!). One thing I'll be demoing will be the new First Edition Hey Baby paper pad and decoupage. I have made two cards with it so far, using designs to show off the gorgeous papers as much as possible.

The first is a gap card:

My second card is a U Shaped card- I just love these little elephants.

Obviously this collection is perfect for New Baby cards but there are lots of elements suitable for other occasions. I'm looking forward to making more this weekend.

I'll be catching up on blog visits later. Hope you all have a great weekend. Cathy x
