Challenge 2 at A Beautiful Mess

Hi everyone. Today I'm sharing my DT card for the new challenge (always Anything Goes) at A Beautiful Mess. We were totally overwhelmed by the response to our first challenge, with over 300 amazing entries. We would love challenge 2 to be just as successful so please do enter and pop over to see all the fabulous DT creations.

Our sponsor this month is:

I absolutely love the image I chose, which is Pirate Parrot 1. I did have the opportunity to use a ready coloured image, which I nearly did. In the end, though, I used my Spectrum Noir markers and thoroughly enjoyed colouring this digi.

The papers I used are from a Hunkydory paper pad, the sentiment stamps from the Crafter's Companion Scruffy Little Kitten range and the anchor cut using a First Edition die. The end result is a really cute card for a pirate mad child.

I would like to enter this card for the following challenges:

Life is really busy at the moment and I am not getting much time to visit all of your blogs but I am trying hard to catch up. I do appreciate all the lovely comments you leave me, thank you for visiting xxx

Use a sentiment at Jade's Sparkling Butterflies

Hi everyone. Today sees a new challenge at Jade's Sparkling Butterflies and our optional theme is Use a Sentiment. It would be lovely to see some of you joining in our new challenge.

Our sponsor this fortnight is Oddball Art. The image I chose is Starlina #65 B.

I thought this image was perfect for a teenage girl so chose to make a card I would have loved as a teenager. I have always loved purple (blame my love of Prince!) so used my Trimcraft Purple goody bag again along with purple Spectrum Noir colours. I have used some Sparkle pens on the wings and the fabulous sentiment is from Docrafts.

Thanks so much for visiting today and for all your lovely comments. Cathy x

Same but Different at My Besties UK

Good morning, hope you have had a good weekend. I had a very exciting moment on Friday when I opened the monthly email from Spectrum Noir to find my card from last Thursday featured in it. It was definitely a boost to my confidence.

As always each member of the DT has produced a beautiful, but very different, project, so do pop over and take a look. My DT card features papers and a button from Trimcraft's Berry Blush collection, with sentiment and gems from the Purple goody bag I told you about in my last post.

Blue Sea Illusion

Hi everyone, thank you all so much for your supportive comments on Monday's post.

Today sees a new challenge at Jade's Sparkling Butterflies. Our option is Buttons and Bows and we have two lovely sponsors. I chose another wonderful image from

This beautiful digi is called Blue Sea Illusion and is available to buy here.

I really wanted to attempt purple hair for this one- I need more practice but pretty happy with the result. The Spectrum Noir colours I used for the hair were HB2, HB3 and LV3.

I've teamed the image with Trimcraft Back to Basics Purple papers and buttons. At the moment you can get Trimcraft's fabulous colour themed goody bags in The Range. They are amazing value and everything matches, which makes it easy to make lovely cards.

Wedding Season

Hi everyone. I haven't blogged for a week- I am very busy at the moment with real life! As some of you know, I am a teacher and at the moment I am starting a business home tutoring students. It's taken off really quickly so that has been taking up lots of time. Now I'm registering with HMRC I can also start selling my cards, so I've been making lots of simple cards to use up my crafty stash and sell on my Facebook site as well.

Today's card is my first card of the wedding season. I made it for a friend and the picture quality isn't fabulous as I made it at the last minute (oops).

The image I used is from a Hunkydory Little Book, Milestones and Moments. I teamed it with some off white card embossed with Sue Wilson's Cascading Hearts embossing folder. I used Victorian Velvet distress ink to bring out the embossed hearts and finished the card with gems and a bow.

Life is Beautiful- Pink at My Besties UK

Today sees a new challenge at My Besties UK. Our option this month, along with the usual Anything Goes, is Pink. You can play along and see all the DT inspiration here.

Of course, this option wasn't too difficult for me- my biggest problem was choosing which of my pink papers to use. In the end I went for some very pretty, soft pink papers from the Trimcraft Dovecraft Floral Muse collection. The Life is Beautiful paper seemed to work particularly well with this image.

The image I chose this month was another of Sherri Baldy's fabulous Fluffy Besties, IMG 36. I would love to be lying in a hammock in the sunshine like this gorgeous girl. I coloured the image in Spectrum Noir markers and simply used butterfly die cuts and pearls to embellish.

The Spectrum Noir colours I used are:
Skin TN1 TN2 FS1 CR2
Hair and hammock TN1 EB1 EB2
Flowers and dress  FS6 CR2 CR3
Leaves DG2 DG3
Tree GB8 GB10

I would like to enter this card for the following challenges:
Cardz4Galz Springtime
Crafts Galore Encore Anything Goes for April
In the Pink Dies and Punches
The ABC Challenge E is for Everything
Whoopsi Daisy Butterflies and Flowers

Flamingos!

A quick post from me today to share this fun card I made using Trimcraft's Simply Creative papers. These fabulous papers in stunning bright colours come from the Happy Days 6x6 pad and I love them, especially the flamingos!

It was fun to make this card. Although I love colouring, it takes me such a long time to finish anything! This was a quick and simple make.

I cut a strip from the bottom of a 6x6 card blank to make a tent fold card and rounded the edges.

I covered half the card in flamingo paper and half in ombre paper, rounding the edges before sticking them down.

For the centre strip I took 2 strips of ombre paper and layered them. I then wrapped a strip of Dovecraft Flamingo Washi Tape around before placing the strip on the card.

I cut 2 flowers from different papers using a First Edition Flower Die. I layered them together and placed a button from my stash in the centre. I added the flower and Dovecraft Serendipity gems to finish the card.

Hope you all have a very happy weekend. Thank you for visiting and commenting today it is always appreciated x
