Superheroes at Daring Cardmakers

Today I'm sharing my last guest designer post for Daring Cardmakers, as April is nearly at an end. The theme this week is Superheroes.

I have made my card using Hunkydory For the Love of Stamps Superheroes stamps. I began by stamping the word stamps onto white card for the background. I coloured 3 squares using Distress Inks (Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry and Salty Ocean. I stamped these with superhero images and a sentiment, layered them on black card and added them to the background. Finally I added a sentiment.

I used my new Tim Holtz/Tonic stamping platform a lot whilst making this card. It really does make stamping easier, particularly when stamping words.

I have really enjoyed my stint at Daring Cardmakers and hope you will join in this challenge.

Goung to take a few days away frim blogging, as it's my son's birthday this weekend (he's a May Day baby). I'll be back in the middle of next week so enjoy the weekend, especially if you have a Bank Holiday like we do. Cathy x

Circles at Craftwork Cards

Hi everyone, hope you are all well. Today I'm sharing two cards I made for the Craftwork Cards blog. You can read more on there.

Both cards were made with the Julie Loves Hearts and Flowers collection. The great news is that the Julie Loves collections are now going to be available as a monthly subscription box. I must admit I've signed up for 6 months already!

Thank you for visiting today. I always appreciate the lovely comments you leave.

Make me a love card Mummy...

Hi everyone, hope you are all well. I have had a busy, but lovely weekend, doing two Trimcraft demos in Range stores. Before I set off on Saturday my 5 yr old asked me to make him a 'love card' whilst I was out, "because you love me so much". He melted my heart a little, so today I thought I'd share what I made him:

The papers I used for this card come from the First Edition 12x12 Sweet Nothings paper pad. I just love this pink and green colour combo.

One of the papers has tags, frames and sentiments to cut out so I used one of these in the centre. The sentiment stamp is by Dovecraft and stamped so well on this paper. I added a heart shaped pearl from the Dovecraft Kiss and Make Up range to finish.

On Sunday, I decided to design a scrapbook layout made with the same paper pad, so made this simple page:

I'm not sure how I will use it yet- maybe I'll put a Disneyland Paris photo on there.

I am very behind with my blog visits again so I'm hoping to catch up with your projects today. Have a lovely day xxx

Leave a little sparkle...

Hi everyone, I hope you have had a lovely Easter weekend. I have enjoyed a few days off but it's back to tutoring today. The GCSE exams are looming so I need to support my students as much as possible.

Last Friday saw the launch of Hunkydory's first ever die range, Moonstone Dies, and, lucky me, I got to play with them first.

For this card I began by layering a Twilight Kingdom Sunset Edition Stamping Background sheet and black Adorable Scorable card onto a 6x6 card blank.

I used the fairy dies from the Fairy Wishes die set to cut three fairies from black card. I added these to the background. To finish off, I used stamps from the Fairy Sparkles stamp set to add the fairy dust and fabulous sentiment.

I was excited to see this card on the counter throughout the Create and Craft shows this weekend, even though the dies sold out so quickly. They do cut so well and I hope there will be more Hunkydory dies to come.

Have a great week. Cathy x

Spring flowers

Hi everyone. I've had a few days off this week so have enjoyed some time out with the boys. Today we are off to their favourite place in the whole world, The Tank Museum in Bovington.

Today's card is my guest designer card for the latest challenge at Daring Cardmakers. The challenge set by Kathy is to use spring flowers.

I knew straight away that I wanted to use this Craftwork Cards Julie Loves Flowers and Hearts collection- those little flowers look a little like tulips I think!

I added some lilac paper to a tent fold card blank, then added some white card I embossed with a flowery embossing folder. I cut 3 diamonds from the Julie Loves...papers and added them down the centre. I added a sentiment and flowers from the collection, along with matching Candi.

This was actually one of the quickest cards I've made lately but also one of my favourites. I do love this collection.

Have a lovely long weekend, however you spend it. Cathy x

Ombre, ombre...

Hi everyone. What a beautiful weekend we've had here in Somerset. On Saturday we took the boys to Stonehenge- it's about an hour from us and we pass it often when we go to London so we thought it was time to visit. You can see from the photos how glorious the weather was.

After that lovely trip the rest of the weekend was spent in the craftroom making samples for a super secret launch coming soon (if I told you, I'd have to kill you!).

Today's cards are last weekend's work and are my DT samples for the launch of Hunkydory's new Ombre Mirri card. This card is absolutely stunning but so hard to photograph, so my photos really don't show it off.

The images are from the Little Books of Nautical and Boutique Chic.

Luckily I've completed all of my samples due tomorrow so I'm looking forward to a couple of fun days with the boys. Hope you all have a good week x

GDT at Daring Cardmakers

Hi everyone. Today I'm really pleased to share the news that I have been asked by Kathy at Daring Cardmakers to be their Guest Designer for April.

If you're unfamiliar with this fab blog, then all you need to know is that every Friday one of the team post a dare and everyone else makes a project to fit with that them. This week was an elemental challenge- pop over to Daring Cardmakers to see the dare and to join in.

From the inspiration we were given, I chose to use ducks, daisies and the colour pink for this cute wedding card:

The cute image is from Hunkydory's Little Book of Patchwork Forest. The papers are from Sara Davies' Little Angels 12x12 pad and the Daisy dies I used are by Sue Wilson.

I hope you will join in with this week's dare. Have a great weekend, Cathy x

Filigree Frames

Hi everyone. Hope you've had a lovely weekend. We were away for my father-in-law's 70th birthday party. As soon as we got home and unpacked, it was time to pack again as the boys are going away for a few days today with my mum and dad. It will be a quiet start to the holidays, but I have lots of DT samples to make to keep me busy.

Today I'm sharing some samples I made for today's Hunkydory launch, Filigree Frames:

I didn't have much time to work with this collection- I had to make all my samples in the eveningsafter my demo days a couple of weeks ago. It was so easy to work with though and I love the way you can change the look of the frames with inks and even use them for home décor.

I will use some of my quiet time today to visit all of your blogs, I really hate it when I get so behind and can't wait to see what you have made. Have a fabulous week x
