Using up scraps

Hi everyone. Today I have a new post on the Craftwork Cards blog. For this one I decided to create some cards using all the scraps of paper I had on my craft table.

These are the cards I made, using the Celebrations collection:

I loved the present card so much, I made a Christmas version using scraps from the Pocket Full of Papers Christmas USB:

You can find more details of these card over on the Craftwork Cards blog.

A Pocket Full of Christmas Papers

Hi everyone. Last night saw a brand new Craftwork Cards launch on Ideal World- and it really is a special one. The Pocket Full of Papers Christmas USB is an absolutely stunning product and contains everything you need to make Christmas cards.

I made 10 sample cards for the launch. Because the USB was launched on Ideal World, the DT brief was to make cards that new crafters could make with basic tools- so I stayed away from die cutting.

These cards are made from the Christmas Post collection:

The next four use the Magic of Christmas collection:

Finally I was asked to colour two images from the Warren and Lola collection. There are lots of images to choose from and they are lovely to colour.

For this card I used Spectrum Noir markers and papers from the Merry and Bright collection.

I added some Hunkydory Diamond Sparkle glitter to the chimney for extra sparkle.

For my final card, I used Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens and paper from the Merry Moments collection.

9th Wedding Anniversary

Hi everyone. Today is my 9th Wedding Anniversary. That may not sound very long, but my husband and I have actually been together nearly 24 years, so we have spent a lifetime together. I have been very lucky this year, as he has bought me a new Tablet- perfect for blogging as my eyes struggle with my phone these days (varifocals await at my next eye check! ). Later on I'll be using it to catch up on blog commenting.

My husband always appreciates a homemade card so this is what I made this year:

The embossing folder, dies and dotty paper are all from the Sara Davies Love and Romance Signature range. I do love this folder and there is so much detail on it I felt it didn't need much added.

It's the first day of the school holidays today so we're having a quiet day. We're going to the library then the boys can play whilst I make Christmas cards. Look out for a fab Craftwork Cards launch next week...

July Same but Different at My Besties UK

Hi everyone. Today sees a new Same but Different post at My Besties UK and this is my DT card. From now on, this post will always be on the 15th of the month.

This month, the DT have all used this fabulous, glamorous image available to buy here. If you pop over to the My Besties UK blog you will see all the wonderful DT creations and also have the chance to win this digi by commenting on the post.

I coloured the image with Spectrum Noir markers and then used layers of paper from the Sara Davies Signature Love and Romance range. The heart doily is also from the range. I used a Tonic sentiment die for the sentiment and heart buttons from Trimcraft, with Hobby House pearls to finish. This is quite a highly embellished card by my usual standard!

Twists on easel cards

Hi everyone. I have meant to blog before today but time is flying by! I will be catching up with everyone's blogs today too.

Today sees my first post on the Craftwork Cards Blog. I will have a regular spot on the blog as part of my DT role. I am really loving being on the team- everyone is so lovely and I'm working with fabulous products.

For today's post, I've made two different easel cards using the Celebrations collection.

Full details for both these cards are on my Craftwork Cards blog post. I hope you'll pop over and take a look.

Robins aren't just for Christmas...

Hi, today I'm sharing a card made for a friend to give to her mother-in-law. I have made robin cards for her before, but it can be really difficult to find non-Christmas robin pictures and I had exhausted my supply. Therefore, I was thrilled to find this gorgeous image, designed by Barbara Hiebert, as a download on Craftsuprint.

The image is so intricate that I kept the rest of the card simple. I embossed some pink Adorable Scorable card with a rose embossing folder (I actually ended up with a debossed image but that was okay!). I added a ribbon and some lace, before finishing off with some pearls.

Thank you for visiting today and for all of your lovely comments.

My Besties UK July Challenge- Summertime

Hi everyone, as you read this I will be returning from Barcelona so will have lots to share in my next post. Today is the first Monday of the month so sees a new challenge at My Besties UK. Our optional theme this month is Summertime. There have been some big changes to the team this month and, although I have been sad to see old members leave, we have some very talented people joining us this month. Please pop over to the challenge post to welcome them and see their work.

For my card, I have used img 076 Sophia. Isn't she gorgeous? I decided to use some beautiful summery papers I won recently- they are called Paradise Crush and are from the Trimcraft First Edition range. They are designed by Louise Tiler and I won a 6x6 and 12x12 pad in a giveaway on her Instagram page. I love these summery colours, so chose to use these for my colouring, using Spectrum Noir markers, and then continued the butterfly theme.

For the centre panel I embossed a piece of white card (I have no idea what the folder is, I've had it years!), then inked it using Picked Raspberry distress ink. I added a bright pink ribbon and bow to the panel then added the image. I fussy cut some butterflies from the paper pad and added them with some pink pearls to finish the card.
