Ticket to Santa

Good morning everyone. For today's post, I have gone back to the Trimcraft North Pole collection.

As before, the main work in this card was layering papers from the pad but they all combine so well. I used the striped paper in the background to create an airmail feel.

One of the papers in this fab collection has tickets to Santa on it, which I felt would be good cut out separately. I added this to the card using a cute little peg to hang it from a piece of twine.

Finally I stamped a Crafters Companion sentiment using Fired Brick Distress Ink and used a North Pole frame to frame it.

Thanks for popping by and commenting today, I really appreciate you taking the time to visit.

Belle and Boo Christmas Card

Hi everyone. This week has been so busy and I can't quite believe it's back to school for the kids next week.

Today I'm sharing a card I've made using the Trimcraft Belle and Boo Christmas range. I love the Belle and Boo characters and the papers in this range are just fabulous, perfect for layering.

This is a sweet and simple card, featuring a decoupage image from the decoupage pad and finished with a wooden shape and button. The sentiment stamp is also from the Belle and Boo range.

Thanks for popping by today, I really do appreciate all your lovely comments xxx

Today I'm sharing my first Christmas card from the Trimcraft Dovecraft North Pole range. I just love the vintage feel of these papers and they look great layered together with kraft card. The card is finished with some twine and a stamped sentiment from the Glad Tidings range.

Thanks for popping by today, I'll be sharing more cards from the Trimcraft Christmas ranges later in the week so hope you can join me again.

Dreams come a size too big...

This cute little card, with it's lovely sentiment, features a Scruffy Little Kitten stamp from Crafter's Companion called Charlie. As mum to 2 boys, these stamps were a must buy- others in the collection include a rugby player and footballer so perfect for my boys and their friends.

I've coloured the image Spectrum Noir markers and combined it with papers and a tag from the Scruffy Little Kitten cd-rom.

I finished the card with some Docrafts Vintage Notes buttons and a stamped sentiment from the same stamp set. I just love the sentiments that come with these stamps, lovely messages to share with children, I think.

Folk Floral

Hi everyone

Today sees the end of my summer break and back to work for me. Definitely mixed feelings about that!
The other day I became aware that my Join This Site button wasn't working- hopefully it's all fixed now and you can follow my blog, if you would like to :-)
Today's cards have been made using Docrafts Folk Floral range. I have been a member of their Creativity Club for a while and was lucky enough to win a huge bundle of goodies in their June club draw. I love this collection- the colours are fantastic and there are lots of happy quotes and sentiments to make you smile.
My first card is full of layers and die cuts, making use of lots of papers and a decoupage element:

I do love the combination of this collection with kraft card and I've also added some twine to my buttons to complete the slightly rustic look.
Products used:
Docrafts Folk Floral A4 Paper Pack, Decoupage Pack and Die Cut Toppers and Sentiments, Owl Folk Buttons
First Edition Flower Dies
X Cut Doilie Die
Twine from stash

My second card is clean and simple, based on my Crowning Affair card you've seen before. I love this sentiment ribbon and bow and have used a stamp from the collection to add a phrase to a blank tag (I think those tags are a great addition to the range).

Products used:
Docrafts Folk Floral A4 Paper Pack, Mini Printed Tags, Ribbon and Ribbon Bows

Thanks for popping by. I love reading all your comments, so do remember to say hello x

This is the card I made for the post, in pretty blues and pinks:

Santoro Willow Paper Weaving

Good morning everyone. Today I'm sharing my first attempt at paper weaving. I saw a tutorial on the Trimcraft website and was keen to try it. I particularly love these Santoro Willow papers, so decided to use these.

I began by deciding on my image- and for this I used the packaging from the Mademoiselle Snow Stamp Set which I backed with a frame cut from the papers.
I distressed the edges of a card blank using Victorian Velvet Distress ink and added the background paper which matches the image's dress. I chose 2 other papers and cut several 1cm wide strips from each. I weaved these together, ensuring I used alternating strips of both papers. I added the weaving to the backing paper and cut the ends to the desired length.
Finally I added the image and finished with some pearls and a flower.
I really love the finished effect of the card and lhow the colours work together. I particularly like this dusky pink colour, definitely one of my favourites.

Products used:

My Besties UK Apple Blossom Party

Good morning everyone. Today is an exciting day for me as it sees my first post as a Design Team member for My Besties UK Challenge Blog. I am so happy to join their team and work with Sherri Baldy's beautiful designs.

Today over at My Besties UK Challenge Blog we are having an Apple Blossom Party, which is a fantastic chance for the members of the DT to share the projects we have made using the gorgeous Apple Blossom papers and Pocket Letters which are available from the My Besties Shop as a download or paper pack.. The DT projects are really beautiful so please pop over to the blog and take a look- if you leave a comment then you will be in with a chance to win a prize.

For my first project, I have created an easel card decorated using the papers and a cute little digi stamp from the My Besties Shop. I concentrated on using the green papers from the collection for this one.

I have used the First Edition Flower die to create some flowers from the papers and a border die I found lurking in my drawers. In the paper collection there is a set of bows, which are so easy to make and finish off the card beautifully.
This gorgeous image has been coloured with Spectrum Noir markers:

Crafting with kids- Neon birthday

When I first started this blog, one of my aims was to share some crafty projects to do with children. Over time, my own projects took over, although I have often crafted with my boys.

This week, my 7 yr old was keen to make a card with me so we decided to make a fun, neon birthday card. I'm not really a lover of bright things, but wanted to give the current neon trend a go. I knew I wanted the card to have balloons and stars but it was  my son decided that it would be good to put a star in the centre of each balloon. I think it was a great decision and love the end result.

Products used:
Docrafts Papermania Neon card, bow
X Cut Star Punch
Balloon die free with Simply Cards and Papercraft (you could hand cut your own using a template, there are several online)
Sentiment stamp free with Crafter's Companion magazine issue 5
Staz-On Ink Pad
Baker's Twine

Don't forget, although children love using punches and die cutting machines, (mine love turning the handle on my Grand Calibur), they should always be supervised when using them.

Crowning Affair Birthday Card

Whilst I was on holiday in Lanzarote, I was struck by the beautiful colours of the flowers and plants there in contrast to the browns of the volcanic landscape.

As soon as I got home, I was eager to create a card using these colours and found that the Trimcraft Dovecraft Crowning Affair paper pad was perfect. I combined my chosen papers with a kraft card blank and rounded the corners.

I deliberately kept the card simple- all I have added is a ribbon, a sentiment and a flower die cut from the paper pad with a large gem in the centre.

Products used:
Trimcraft Dovecraft Crowning Affair 6 x 6 Paper Pad
First Edition Flower Die
Trimcraft Dovecraft Bohemian Adhesive Gems, 6x6 Kraft Card Blank
Ribbon from stash

Racing car kinetic card

Hi everyone. After a little break for my birthday and a camping trip, I'm back with this little kinetic racing car card. I made it a while ago but it has appeared in Papercrafter magazine this month and I realised I hadn't shared it here.
I have used Trimcraft First Edition Travel Notes 8 x 8 papers for the card and the little car is a wooden shape from the Tiny Tatty Teddy Range, coloured with Spectrum Noir markers.
I think this card is really fun, especially when you can add a secret message to be revealed by pulling the tab:

Full instructions for this project can be found in My Trimcraft Gallery

Thanks for visiting- I really love reading all your comments and am very grateful for them x
