Rawr...

Hi everyone. I'm finally getting back to normal from my few days away- we took the boys to Dosneyland Paris and it was magical. I won't bore you too much so just a few photos...!

Since I've been back I've only made a solitary card- but it's something different for me as it involves a rare attempt at stamping.

The stamp set used is Dino Friends from For the Love of Stamps (Hunkydory's stamp brand) and I've kept the design simple.

I used Versamark to stamp footprints around white card for my background. I then stamped 3 dinos onto a smaller square using Momento ink and coloured with Copics. The fab sentiment is part of the set too.

I layered it all up on a 6x6 card blank with some Hunkydory Adorable Scorable Shimmer card.

My youngest has lots of parties coming up so I think this stamp set will get a lot of use- it's perfect for all those 5 yr olds!

Thanks for visiting today. I'm off teaching in Gloucestershire today so will catch up on all your blogs later, with a glass of wine in hand hopefully! Xxx

Only words...

Hi everyone. Another scheduled post as we are still away.

Yesterday was Valentine's Day and so I'm sharing this card I made for my husband:

I made the card base and cut all the embellishments using my Scan n Cut which I finally got repaired last week after 3 months. I can't blame the Customer Services- I was very slow to send it off, which I think is mainly due to the fact I never really got to grips with the machine. However over the last two weeks I've made an effort to watch YouTube videos and a Mel Heaton DVD and now feel much more confident using it.

I made the card base from Hunkydory pearlescent Adorable Scorable by 'welding' the letters to two rectangles. I have even saved the pattern to my machine to save guess work if I use it again!

The papers I have used are Crafter's Companion Sara Davies Love and Romance papers and I have used HD Mirri card from the 50 Shades Darker range for the letters. The words are cut from Adorable Scorable and come from the patterns on my Scan n Cut.

Thank you for visiting today x

Primrose Lane

Good morning everyone. This is a scheduled post as it's half term and I'm away for a few days. I will catch up on everyone's blogs when I return.

Today is the launch of a new Hunkydory collection, Primrose Lane. Before I received it, I worried that it might be too traditional for my tastes but I absolutely loved working with it. The artwork is stunning and it was very easy to make lots of samples.

I don't really have a favourite sample this time so I thought I'd show them all and you can decide!

Thank you for visiting today. I hope you have a lovely week x

Reveal it

Hi everyone, hope you are well. I had a huge to do list this morning. You know how time management books tell you to categorise things into urgent, important etc lists- well today everything seemed to be urgent! Somehow though I've knuckled down and got through lots of jobs, so I'm taking a few minutes out.

Today's card is something different for me and the result of some rare play time in the craft room.

The products I used for this are all from Craftwork Cards. I began by using a Distress It mat for my background.

My second layer is a Reveal It mat- this came as a white embossed mat and when you add ink the pattern emerges. I used 3 distress inks for this- Dusty Conchord, Seedless Preserves and Picked Raspberry. I swiped the inks on a glass mat, spritzed with a little water, then dipped the mat in. When it was dry I cut it down slightly and added it to the card.

The topper is a Reveal It topper. I used distress inks again, but this time using a blending tool to add Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers inks.

I finished off with some ribbon and punched flowers.

I loved playing with inks yesterday, so I hope you like the finished result. Thanks for visiting today x

Mirri Butterflies

Hi everyone. We are in the midst of a massive storm at the moment. I was supposed to be popping out to fetch my new glasses but I think it can wait! I hope the weather is better with you.

Today's card is another made with Hunkydory's Mirri Magic collection.

I enjoy making these cards where you remove part of the front of the card and decorate the inside too.

I die cut some butterflies from the card I used for the front of the card. These fabulous die is by Dovecraft and was free with Crafts Beautiful magazine. It's so pretty and cuts beautifully.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Thank you for taking the time to visit today.
