Antiqued Just for You

Hi everyone. Today I'm sharing a card I made last week whilst the boys were away. I've used Craftwork Cards Antiqued collection, which includes papers, tags and die cut sentiments.  This collection was released whilst I was on holiday, but I loved the sneak peek I had so I just had to buy it when I got home.

I love this pink and black colour combination so I combined a few different papers, aadded a tag and kept the design simple. I never miss a chance to use lace and pearls and they work perfectly with this collection. The ribbon is also by Craftwork Cards and I can honestly say it is the best organza ribbon I have used.

Hope you all have a great Bank Holiday- we are visiting my home town of Hereford so I'm looking forward to showing my sons some of my old haunts.

Thank you for visiting today and for your lovely comments x

Birdhouses

Hi everyone.  Today sees the launch of a new Craftwork Cards collection,  Birds and Blooms, on Create and Craft. I was lucky enough to have a first glimpse of this gorgeous collection at the end of July, when the Craftwork Cards DT got together at the factory in Garforth. We had such a fabulous day, chatting, planning and crafting, and it was so lovely to meet everyone.

For the launch I was asked to make some samples of the 3D Birdhouses which are part of the collection. I didn't have much time to make my samples, but I loved making them.

For my first sample, I used some inks to Distress the edges of the birdhouse. I used lace and pearls to decorate it.

My second sample can be hung using the loop of ribbon I added. I placed a (battery) tea light inside, to make a pretty gift idea.

This birdhouse decorated with hearts is a gift box, containing some Love Heart sweets. It would make a sweet (!) Anniversary gift.

These are the other samples I made:

I am really looking forward to the shows today and hopefully you'll be able to spot some of my makes if you tune in too.

Life is better in flip flops

So after 3 very quiet days, the boys are back home and my peace is shattered! I have missed them,  of course, but it has been lovely to have lots of time to play in the craft room.

Today's card is perfect for the wonderful weather we are having at the moment and sees me using lots of products I've had for a while but never used.

I began by stamping a Crafters Companion Verity Rose Sunbeam stamp on to Neenah card using Memento ink. I coloured her with Spectrum Noir markers:
Skin FS2 FS3 FS4 CR2
Clothes BT1 BT2 BT4 CT1 CT2 CT4 CR7 CR8 DR1
Hair and shell TN1 EB1 EB2

I used Trimcraft First Edition Sail Away papers, backed onto Kraft card, and edged with Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink. I added a little twine to add to the seaside feel.

I used First Edition Beach dies to cut a starfish and shells. I coloured the starfish with a Spectrum Noir Sparkle marker in Sand Dune. I wanted to try to achieve a shell texture for the shells so painted them using Liquid Pearls in Bronze and a wet paint brush. This gave a lovely sheen.

The sentiment stamp is from the Verity Rose set and has been stamped using Versafine ink. I think it's a great sentiment although I actually hate flip flops!

My Besties UK August Same but Different

Hi, hope you have all had a nice weekend. My boys are away until this evening so I have done lots of crafting and had very late nights watching the fabulous Olympic action.

Today sees our monthly Same but Different post at My Besties UK. This month we have all used the beautiful IMG 933, Valentine, available to buy here. Of course, you have the chance to win this digi by commenting on the post at My Besties UK. Please pop over- we have lots of new team members and everyone's projects are amazing this month.

For my card, I coloured the digi using Copic markers. My colour range with these is limited (although I've ordered lots more using my birthday money!), but luckily I have these very pretty purple markers. Purple was of course my first priority when starting my collection.

Colours used are:
Skin E000, E00, E21, R20
Clothes V000, V01, V04, V06, V09
Hair E53 E55

The papers and flowers are from Trimcraft's Dovecraft Back to Basics Berry Blush collection. I used a Sue Wilson die for the bow.

Belle and Boo Just for You

It seems to have been a very long time since I made a card just because I felt like it, but this week I took the time to do just that. Most of the elements for this card are from Trimcraft's Belle and Boo II Collection. I've had this for months but haven't had a chance to play before now.

I kept the design very simple to show off the beautiful papers. The ribbon is from my stash and the glittery dots are part off the collection. I like the idea of making something girly but not too pink.

My Besties UK August Challenge

Hi everyone. Today is a special day as we are off on our holidauly to Portugal. As some of you know, we were hit by  the Lowcostholiday firm going bust, so we have had a stressful few weeks sorting out our hotel.  Everything is sorted now and we are all so excited. I may not be able to visit your blogs this week so please forgive my absence.

Today also sees a new challenge at My Besties UK.. From now on challenges will be on the 1st of every month.

This month's optional theme is Sparkle or Bling and this is my DT card:

I love this image, called Nurse Bonnie and available to buy here. I knew she would be perfect for a get well card but it took me a while to settle on a design and papers for the card that included some bling.

In the end I chose these First Edition Love Story papers as the colours really appealed to me. I found some flowers I'd already cut with the pad, so my bling element was sorted as I added some gems to those.

I coloured the digi using Copics for the skin and hair and Spectrum Noirs for the clothes. It's a little hard to see but I added some sparkle by using SN Sparkle markers for the flowers and red trim.

I finished off my card with a Tonic Flourish die and sentiment stamp from my stash. I hardly ever use flourishes on my cards but felt this one finished the card nicely.

Make sure you visit the My Besties blog to see the wonderful creations from the rest of the team. Hope you will join us in the challenge too.
