Some good news...

It's been a funny week with lots of ups and downs, so I'm really pleased to end it with some good news- I have been accepted onto the Design Team for the fabulous Craftwork Cards.

I must admit I was really surprised to have got this post but I'm really excited about it. Craftwork Cards products are so beautiful and I can't wait to design some projects with them. It is also the first time I've been on a DT for a company who are on Create and Craft TV, so I may even get to see some of my work on TV.

For my application, I had to send off (by post!) four cards and a project. I thought I'd share them with you- you've already seen the pink heart card but the others are new to my blog.

Of course, this has come at a perfect time for me, as I will have more time to craft once I finish my job. You can read more about the other, very talented, DT members on the Craftwork Cards Blog.

So again I'd like to thank all my regular visitors for your support- without your lovely comments I'd never have had the confidence to apply for this DT.  I look forward to sharing lots of news projects soon x

Dragonlets and Me

Hi everyone. I have something a little darker than normal to share today.

We have a new Anything Goes challenge at A Beautiful Mess. Our fabulous sponsors this month are:

My beautiful image is from Delicious Doodles and is called Dragonlets and Me.

I remembered that I had a fabulous LelliBot paper pack called Fantasy Dragons stashed away, so used a scaly backing paper and bow from that. I couldn't resist colouring in my favourite purple Spectrum Noir colours and kept the rest dark with greys and greens.

I finished the card with some purple gems but decided to keep the design simple. Although it's a little bit different for me, I really love the end result.

Thank you for visiting today and for all your lovely comments x

Say it with flowers

Hi everyone. Thank you for all your lovely comments on my last post, I am so grateful for all the support you all give me.

Today sees a new challenge at Jade's Sparkling Butterflies. Our optional theme is Say it with Flowers and our sponsors this week are:

For my card I chose the beautiful Fire Fairy image from Fabrika, available to buy here.

I coloured her in shades of red and orange using Spectrum Noir markers with Moonlight Sparkle pen for the wings. The backing paper is from Lidl (and is amazing quality to my surprise) and the flowers are made using Trimcraft First Edition Dies.

In the pink

Hi everyone. I feel a little run down at the moment- it is exam time for my college students who are retaking GCSE maths and English and the pressure is on! It is hard not to feel the stress as many of them have worked so hard towards the exams (and there are some who haven't too). Next week is my last full week of teaching at the college I have worked at for 12 years- then there will be 4 weeks after half term of admin and desk clearing before I leave for self-employment.

All of this might explain why my crafty motivation has deserted me a little- but I did manage to get a few cards done last week so here is one that I really like.

I have used some very pretty Craftwork Cards papers and flowers from the Rosa pad for this one. The edges of the paper have been gently distressed using scissors and inked with Victorian Velvet distress ink. This is still my favourite distress ink colour- do any of you have favourites?

The topper is also Craftwork Cards- from their Floral Prints set. I distressed the edges of this too. The flowers have been shaped and distressed before adding to the card, then finished with some Candi.

I will be catching up with everyone's blogs later. Thank you for visiting today and for all of your lovely comments x

Fashionista Bestie

Hi everyone. Today is Same but Different day at My Besties UK.

Today all of the DT have used this beautiful Fashionista Bestie IMG813. Visit the blog to see everyone's beautiful cards. Don't forget there's still time to join in this month's challenge too.

My card has been made using Scrapberry's Elegy papers and paper flowers. The image has been coloured with Spectrum Noir markers. I felt that a red dress would be just perfect for a  glamorous lady like this.

Thank you for visiting today and for all of your lovely comments. I've had another busy few days but will be visiting lots of blogs today, over coffee and breakfast I hope x

Lots of Layers

Hi everyone. Today we have a new challenge at Jade's Sparkling Butterflies. Our challenges are always Anything Goes but we also have the option of lots of layers for this challenge.

Our sponsor for the fortnight is the fabulous Nikki Burnette.

The image I have used is the stunning Telsa, available to buy here.

I'm not very confident with steampunk style cards but I have added a steampunk feel to the card with the papers and embellishments. Both the cog dies and papers are from the gorgeous Trimcraft Santoro Willow range. I've added a bit of Vintage Photo distress ink to the edges of everything. I'm actually really happy with the overall look of this card.

The image has been coloured with Spectrum Noir markers:
Skin FS2 FS4 FS9
Eyes TB1
Lips CR2
Hair TN5, TN7, TN8
Clothes EB1 EB2 EB3 DR5 DR6 DR7

Thank you for visiting today and for all of your lovely comments x

A Country Life

Last week, someone asked me to make a card for her sister with a cookery theme. I had a short deadline, and nothing suitable in my stash, but remembered the Docrafts Papermania Country Life collection, so bought a few bits and bobs from the collection.

For this card I have used the Country Kitchen decoupage pack, which has papers included. The dotty paper came from a paper pack which was free with Creativity magazine and I have also used a bow from the collection. The pearls were in my stash.

Although the design is simple, I love the bright colours of this card.

Thanks for visiting today and for your lovely comments x

World's Greatest

Hi everyone. We have had a wonderful weekend celebrating my son's 8th birthday. Luckily we have a Bank Holiday to recover!

Today we have a new challenge over at My Besties UK and it is Anything Goes. The DT have made some wonderful cards, so please pop over to have a look.

For my card, I chose to use this really cute Bestie Boy, Img 593. I teamed him with these great Docrafts Mr Mister wood and tools 12x12 background papers. I also cut the rosette from another of the papers in the pack. I think this card would be great for Father's Day but could also be for any male birthday.

The digi has been coloured with Spectrum Noir markers:
Skin FS2 FS4 FS9 CR2
Hair and Eyes GB10 EB5
Clothes and Hat TB1 TB3 OR1 OR2 OR3
Shoes EB2 EB3
Paint CR8 CR10

I would like to enter this card for the following challenges:
