Bohemian Wall Art

Yesterday, the Trimcraft website had a tutorial for a piece of Wall Art, which prompted me to make today's project. I always thought these beautiful butterflies could be used for home decor but had never tried anything like this before.
The project is ultra quick and simple but instructions can be found in my Trimcraft gallery . I think the finished piece looks great in a frame and will be on my  bedroom wall.
Products used:
Trimcraft Dovecraft Premium Bohemian 8x8 and 6x6 Paper Pads, Printed Butterflies and Sequins.
Creative Expressions Foundation Cardstock in Coconut White
Collall All-Purpose glue (for the papers)

Bohemian Sequin Thank You Card

Hi everyone, welcome to a new week. One of the advantages of living in Central Somerset is that we get to buy day tickets for the Sunday of Glastonbury Festival- all the fun without the camping :-) . We took our 7 yr old son for the first time yesterday, so today finds me exhausted from miles of walking yesterday (the site is huge!). Not going to move from the sofa much today, so a perfect chance to update my blog and wander around some of my favourite blogs too.
It's not long until the summer holidays, so my crafting thoughts have turned to teacher cards and gifts. I always like to make something special for them, as I know how hard they work to inspire the children and they do such a great job.
This card features the Trimcraft Bohemian collection, which is one of my favourites. I have really wanted to do something with the peacock papers and they are so lovely, I wanted to make them the focal point of the cards. The sequin frame really draws your eye to the centre aperture and I have added sequins to the centre of flowers too. I just love the way this card sparkles. Full details of this card can be found in my Trimcraft Gallery.
Thanks for taking the time to visit x

Sweet Paris colour challenge card

I created this card for this month's Trimcraft website challenge. This month you need to pick a colour theme and create a card based on this. I chose to use shades of green, using these beautiful Sweet Paris papers and embellishments.
I cut the Eiffel Tower tag from one of the papers, layering this over other papers and a large flower from the Big Blooms pack. I finished the card with die cut flowers, pearls, lace and ribbon. The finished card is great for any occasion but would be perfect for a summer birthday.

Happy Father's Day

Today is Father's Day, a time to thank our dads for all they do. My Dad is retired now and spends his time in the Somerset countryside, looking after his land (and helping at a local woodland) with his ever-growing collection of old tractors. My sons love visiting him there and Dad even takes his friends on tractor and trailer tides when they visit.
My card for Dad this year has taken on the tractor theme. The stamp set I used is by Sheena Douglass, coloured simply with Spectrum Noir markers. It is perfect for my Dad and I was so pleased when this stamp became available, as I had found it difficult to find suitable tractor theme images in the past.
The backing papers are from Docrafts Mr Mister collection. This green seemed perfect for a country themed card. It's a very simple card really but just right for a country gentleman.

Lelli-Bot Crafts Urban Roots Father's Day

This morning I had a request from a friend for a Father's Day card for her son to give to her husband. Her theme of choice was music or gaming, so I immediately thought of the Lelli-Bot Crafts Urban Roots Fullworks kit.
One of the best things about this kit, apart from the great topper images and 6x6 papers, is that it comes with lots of coordinating embellishments. For this card, I chose a star button and this great treble clef charm. The stars are simply die cut from a backing paper and the sentiment printed out.
Apart from the 8x8 card blank and black and white card, everything on this card comes from the kit, making it really easy to put together a quick but stylish card.

Mr Mister patchwork card

I do love a patchwork card and wanted to show that the technique isn't just for feminine cards.
I've used 4cm squares of Docrafts Mr Mister paper for this card, cutting it so that the card's sentiments are within the patchwork pieces. I've layered the pieces onto a square dark grey card and adhered the square onto a co-ordinating backing paper, on a 6x6 blank, using thin foam pads. It's simply finished with some blue-grey pearls from Scrapberry's (I just love their embellishments and the range of colours is awesome).
The end result would be great for any special man but made particularly with Father's Day in mind.

Products used:
Docrafts Mr Mister 12x12 papers, Papermania A4 card

Vintage Gentleman Father's Day Card

This card is very simple but lots of fun to make. I used Trimcraft First Edition True Blue papers and Vintage Gentleman dies to make the card. These elements combine well with kraft card, so I used this for a change.

I started with a square kraft card blank and added a piece of one of the papers. I then took a smaller square of kraft card and used 3 of the Vintage Gentleman dies to cut a hat, glasses and moustache. I wanted to use the apertures in the card so made sure I placed the dies carefully to get the look I wanted.

I cut three small pieces of different papers and glued these behind the apertures I had made with the dies. I attached the square of kraft card onto the card blank using 1mm depth foam pads.

Finally, I stamped the Best Dad sentiment onto another piece of kraft card and attached with foam pads.

Dads can be very difficult to buy for so I like the idea of a quirky card that will suit most of them. I'm very pleased with the end result. Thanks for visiting x
