Craftwork Cards Christmas Cheer

Today is a very exciting day for me for three reasons. Firstly, it is my first day as a fully self-employed person as I left my job yesterday. It was a slightly emotional day but I'm glad to have finally finished. Secondly, I am off to Barcelona for the weekend today. I will be leaving my children and husband behind and spending four days with two lovely friends.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, today sees the launch of a new Craftwork Cards kit on Create and Craft TV and marks my debut as a member of the design team. I must say that this is a really lovely DT to be on- everyone is so supportive.

These are the samples I made for the launch:

I really couldn't resist this gorgeous Teddy topper and he seemed perfect for a circle easel card.

This is a little A6 card. I simply used one of the large sentiments backed with a piece of the paper pad and ass ribbon and pearls.

For this one, I emphasised the vintage look of the kit by inking everything with Vintage Photo distress ink and adding lace.

This card used one of the hexagon toppers and these fabulous flowers.

For my final card I wanted to create something really quick and simple. I wrapped twine around the top of a small square card blank and added a layered flower with Candi and a sentiment.

This really is a lovely kit. The papers and toppers are of a great quality and are so easy to create with. You can find out more details and buy it here  I hope to catch one of the shows before I fly off later, so will be keeping an eye out for my cards as well as enjoying a look at what everyone else has created.

Baseball Bestie

Hi everyone, hope you are all well. I'm still really busy with work and tutoring but only 12 more days until I leave work (and go on a weekend trip to Barcelona, I'm so excited!).

Today is Same but Different Day at My Besties UK. Our image for this month is this super cute sporty Bestie, Baseball Bestie Img309. Don't forget to visit today's blog post, where you'll find the wonderful cards from all the DT. If you comment on that post, you will be in with a chance of winning this fab digi too.

As it will soon be 4th of July, I decided to use red, white and blue for my card. I found these fabulous digi papers on Etsy- they were an absolute bargain and will be so useful for lots of projects. I backed these onto some Crafter's Companion Neenah Desert Storm card.

I coloured the image using Spectrum Noir markers and finished the card with punched stars, twine and a button from my stash.

Spectrum Noir markers used are:
Skin FS2 FS3 FS4 CR2
Hair TN1 EB1 EB2
Clothes CR9 CR11 DR2 TB1 TB3 TB5 IG1 IG2
Bat EB1 EB2

Teacher Thank You Cards

I cannot believe how quickly this school year has gone and it will soon be over. In September my youngest son will be starting school whilst my eldest will be in Year 4. They have both had fantastic teachers and keyworkers this year, so I have been beginning to think about making Teacher Thank You cards.

For these cards, I have used the An Apple a Day stamp set and Apple die from Clearly Besotted. The die makes using the stamps so easy, as I am not a fan of fussy cutting!

For the pink card I've used Memento Ink pad in Rosebud for the apple and stamped the sentiment in Staz-on ink. I love this sentiment, as it sums up teaching for me.

For this second card, I used Stazon ink to stamp the apple onto watercolour card and coloured it with a Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen. The leaves and stalk have been stamped and then coloured over with Spectrum Aqua pens.

Favourite colours

Hi, today sees a new challenge at Jade's Sparkling Butterflies. Our challenges are always Anything Goes but this time we also have the option of favourite colour combinations.

Our sponsor this fortnight is:

For my DT card I chose the absolutely delightful Spring Girl digi and coloured her in my favourite purple and yellow colour combo. As before I have coloured in a mix of Copics and Spectrum Noir markers.

I have kept the design simple because I love the image so much. The papers, sentiment and bow are from the Docrafts Folk Floral range and the flowers & buttons are from Trimcraft. I think this card would make a fabulous Thank You card for a teacher from a little girl- if I had thought ahead I would have selected the Spring Boy digi and used that for my sons' cards!

My Besties UK Flowers

Hi, hope you have all enjoyed the fabulous sunshine we have had this weekend. We have spent a long weekend camping with a group of wonderful friends- we were so lucky to have 3 dry nights and both children and adults have had an amazing time. I have been without wifi for four days though, so will be catching up with everybody's blogs later.

Today sees the start of the June challenge at My Besties UK and the optional theme is Flowers. This is my DT card:

This beautiful image is Fluffy Bestie Img 50, coloured with a mix of Spectrum Noir and Copic markers. She looks so calm and happy so I had to team her with these Craftwork Cards papers and flowers from the Serenity pad. I just love these colours.
