Happy Birthday Lily

Hi everyone, hope you have had a nice weekend. Ours was, as usual , packed with football and rugby. Now both children are playing both sports, there's no chance for a break!

I've spoken before about the friends we made when our eldest son was a baby and last week one of the children turned 8. I made her a unicorn card:

The image is from a Hunkydory Little Book. I cut it down so it would fit on a 6x6 card. The fabulous rainbow papers are from Trimcraft's Simply Creative Play Days pad. I simply added some sequins and gems.

I was also asked to make a card by her parents. The brief was a purple bike and butterflies:

I found the digi stamp on Etsy and coloured it with Spectrum Noir markers. The butterflies were cut using First Edition dies and the papers and gems are from Trimcraft's Back to Basic range (I mixed from the purple and berry blush collections).

Both cards were well received by the birthday girl. It's hard to believe that the babies we met at baby group are now so grown up!

Festive Chalkboard

Hi everyone. I hope you're having a good week. I'm feeling happy today because I have 2 days of crafting ahead.

Today it's my turn to post on the Craftwork Cards blog. I'm sharing some cards I made with my favourite collection, Festive Chalkboard. As well as the inevitable shaker card, I've made lots of cards using the papers and die cuts. To be honest I made far more than I planned, but at least I have now started on my Christmas cards!

There are more details of the cards on my blog post, including instructions for the 3D baubles. I would love it if you would pay it a visit.

Thank you for looking today and for all your lovely comments. I really do appreciate them x

Wild at heart shaker card

Hi everyone. Today I'm sharing a card I was asked to make by a friend for her daughter. The theme I was given was foxes.

I do enjoy making shaker cards so that seemed a good choice for an 8 yr old. I used Trimcraft First Edition Wild at Heart papers. Like all First Edition pads, this one has some beautiful embossed papers.

Once I'd put together the shaker card, I added some die cut bunting with some twine. I then used elements from Docrafts Tales of Wilson Wood collection- a sticker (which I backed onto a circle of paper), ribbon bow and a fabulous little wooden peg (I couldn't resist that one).

Both my friend and her daughter were really pleased with the card and I love it too.

Thanks for visiting and for all of your lovely comments x

My Besties UK Same but Different for September

Hi everyone, hope you are OK.  I am starting to fit into a routine now both boys are at school. Although I have lots of work, I'm starting to get more time to Craft which is great.

Today sees a new Same but Different post at My Besties UK. This is my DT card:

This month we have used Sherri's beautiful Hollyhock Fairy. As always each member of the DT has made a beautiful, but very different, card, so do visit the post to take a look.

Recently, I've been asked to describe my crafting style a couple of times and I guess this card is as close to that as I get. I have used Craftwork Cards Boutique Floral collection papers, die cutting some butterflies and adding a doily and lots of pearls. The sentiment is from the CC Birds and Blooms collection. Most of the colouring is done with Copic markers ( this pretty pink combination is R81 R83 and R85). I've added Clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle to the wings.

Who stole all the tarts?

Hi everyone, hope you are all well.

The card I'm sharing today has been made using Graphic 45's fabulous Halloween in Wonderland collection. I made this for a friend's birthday. At the college where I used to work there is a Rag Day every year- staff and students all take part, dressing up and raising money for charity. This year my friend is organising an Alice in Wonderland theme for the department. My rather fierce ex-manager is playing the Queen of Hearts so I did have a little giggle over the main image.

I made this card at a local craft group- it was the first time I'd been there and I didn't take much with me so it's a simple paper layered card. I do like the way Graphic 45 papers have so many elements you can cut out, such as the playing cards. I've just added a chipboard clock and sticker from the collection. If I was at home I may have added some distressing and die cuts but I'm pleased with the card as it is.

Some tag inspiration

Hi everyone, hope you are having a good week. Thanks for all the good wishes for my little boy- he is loving school and his older brother is also really enjoying his new class and teacher. My plans to get more crafting done aren't going too well at the moment however, I seem to have too many other things to do!

Today it is my turn to share some inspiration on the Craftwork Cards blog. I have shared some of my makes using tags.

My first project is a little card made from 2 tags from the Chinoiserie collection.  I've shared a tutorial for this on the blog.

My second project is a simple little gift tag made from the Festive Chalkboard collection.

Thank you for visiting today and for all of your lovely comments x

First day at school (sob!)

A very big day in our house today as my youngest son is starting school. He is so ready and so needs to go, but I'm still more than a little teary.

Of course I had to make him a card:

I used Trimcraft Simply Creative Play Days papers for this one- they're just perfect with numbers, letters and shapes on them and such fabulous, bright colours.

This card is also a first for me, as it's the first time I've used my new Scan N Cut machine. I've wanted one for ages and could finally afford one. I'm so glad I bought it- cutting out these letters and shapes was so quick and easy.

I'm going to have so much fun playing with this.

Although I may be feeling a little fragile today, and I'll be watching the clock until 3.10, I have lots to fill my time. A little blog commenting and card making to do before I have lunch with 3 of my closest friends. We all met when our eldest children, now 7 and 8, were babies and we are all like family now. Hope you all have a good day.

My Besties UK September Challenge

Hi everyone. Today sees a new challenge at My Besties UK. Our optional theme is Fall (Autumn!).

The image I used was a fabulous Fluffy Bestie, Cupcake Fluffy, available to buy here. She is coloured with Spectrum Noir pens.

I've used Trimcraft First Edition Falling Leaves papers, with Docrafts X Cut dies for the leaves. These papers have a beautiful texture and shine and look great matted onto this Hunkydory Mirri Card in Bronze.

I hope to see you joining in our challenge this month. Make sure you check out the challenge post to see all the other fabulous DT projects.
